The Water and Land Resource Centre (WLRC) participated in the “Dutch Government-Funded Projects in Ethiopia” Exhibition, held at the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) on 18 September 2025.
Ms. Lisan Bijdevaate, First Secretary for Water Affairs at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ethiopia, visited the Hare Integrated Catchment Management (HICM) hotspot in the Rift Valley Lakes Basin, accompanied by Aytenew Endashaw, Policy Officer at the EKN Addis Ababa, Dr. Mamaru Moges, BRIGHT Project Manager, and chairpersons and community members of the kebeles in the catchment.
A Dutch high-level delegation led by H.E. Ms. Eva Schreuder, Head of Water in the Inclusive Green Growth Department of the Netherlands’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited on the Water and Land Resource Centre and progress with Dutch-supported development projects, specifically water-sensitive urban planning and green infrastructure in Ethiopia.
The Water and Land Resource Centre (WLRC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE), organized a high-level side event during the Second African Climate Summit, held at the International Convention Centre in Addis Ababa from 8–10 September 2025.
Water and Land Resources Centre (WLRC) and the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) organised and facilitated a four-day workshop on validation of the Hare Catchment baseline situations assessment findings and the proposed interventions, financed by the Basin Management Support for Resilient, Inclusive Growth and Harmonized Transformation for the National IWRM Programme of Ethiopia (BRIGHT) Project. The workshop was held at Haile Resort, Arba Minch, from September 1 to 4, 2025.
