[April 23, 2026]: BRIGHT project stakeholders hold Awash Basin Plan Technical Audit Report and IWRM Resources and Stakeholder Mapping Report Validation Workshop April 23 – 24, 2026 at the Nexus Hotel, Addis Ababa.
The IWRM resource and stakeholder mapping and analysis, which constitute Phase I and Phase II of the Awash Basin Plan revision, were carried out by the Awash Basin Plan Revision Team and validated by stakeholders. The workshop brought together stakeholders from four regional states, two city administrations, federal ministries and Partners. The welcoming and opening speech were delivered by Dr Tena Alamiraw (WLRC D/Director) and Mr. Debebe Deferso, Lead Executive for IWRM at the Ministry of Water and Energy, respectively. Both of them emphasised the need to finalise the Basin Plan revision and enter it to the implementation stage.
