The Biophysical and Socio-economic Baseline Situations Assessment Data Collectors induction training and Stakeholders awareness creation workshop was successfully conducted (October 09-10/2025), in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.

The training was delivered using a blended approach (virtually and physically), which ensured consistent training quality and reached all personnel, even those in remote locations. The Data Enumerators and Core Team Members were fully equipped with the standardized knowledge and tools to ensure consistent, accurate, and high-quality data collection for both biophysical and socio-economic variables.

On the next day, awareness creation session was held with local communities, focusing on the BRIGHT Project objectives and planned activities particularly on Infranze Hotspot catchment. The awareness creation workshop secured a vital commitment from the local communities to actively support the data collection process, protect the project’s efforts, and advocate for the BRIGHT initiative. This participatory approach is fundamental to the sustainability of the future Catchment Management Plan (CMP) and Development intervention. Following that the data collectors officially started the Baseline Data Collection Phase for the CMP and Development Intervention Plan preparation.
