[August 7, 2026, Addis Ababa] –A State-of-the Art- ETH-Water HUB which was constructed by the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) and Water and Land Resources Centre (WLRC), with financial support of the BRIGHT Project, was officially inaugurated on August 7, 2026 in the presence of the MOWE Minister and other high-ranking officials. The Ethiopian Water Information Hub (ETH-Water HUB), is a modern data and information centre established to strengthen water resources management through integrated digital systems and data-driven decision-making.
The inauguration was attended by high-level government officials led by the Minister of Water and Energy, alongside state ministers, ambassadors, regional basin representatives, senior MoWE officials, development partners, and technical experts.
During the inauguration, the Minister of Water and Energy and other distinguished guests commended WLRC and the BRIGHT Project for their leadership and technical contribution in delivering the facility and advancing digital transformation of Ethiopia’s water sector. The ETH-HUB was recognized as a significant milestone in strengthening national capacity for water information management and fostering collaboration among institutions.
