  [April 25, 2026] A three-day training on “Transforming Restrictive Gender Norms for Inclusive IWRM in the Infranze Catchment through Gender Model Families and Integrated Livelihoods Enhancement” was conducted at Bahir Dar. Traininees were 49 experts of Infranze catchment stakeholders, team leaders and gender experts from Infranze Catchment (Regional, Zonal, and Woreda levels), Crop, Livestock, Natural Resource Management (NRM), Nutrition, and Horticulture experts from 6 quick-win Kebeles, and experts from Abbay BAO and BRIGHT. . The training aimed to overcome restrictive gender social norms by integrating Gender-Model Family (GMF) approaches with livelihood enhancements that align with local water, land, and catchment resources. This training was organized by the BRIGHT project’s Gender and Social Inclusion thematic area to promote sustainable, resource-efficient, and gender-responsive Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The training was facilitated by the Kunzila ILMWA Gender and Livelihood expert, who has practical experience in the actual implementations of the Gender Model Family (GMF) and integrated livelihood development. The sessions were highly interactive, and trainees prepared an action plan to be implemented in the next 10 weeks.
