Geospatial data are valuable assets in natural resources monitoring and management. However, until recently much of this data was only accessible to public authorities and institutions concerned with cartography. The Water and Land Resource Centre (WLRC)-Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia has been striving to serve as a national knowledge hub to support decision-makers and planners in their efforts towards sustainable resource use and development.

IMG-c57d131c4d0768413e1a0126a0218350-VA total of 76 participants have attended the 1st Water security and sustainable development Hub annual Assembly in Johor Bahru, Malaysia September 23-27, 2019 from across the hub (UK, Colombia, Ethiopia, India and Malaysia). Of which 15 were from the two institutions (11 and 4 team members from WLRC and IWMI, respectively) of the Ethiopian Collaboratory.

sululta2On 17 January 2019, a half day meeting with Sululta Town Administration Cabinet members was convened by the Nestle Waters Ethiopia and Water and Land Resource Centre (WLRC) at Yaya Village in Sululta town. The meeting aims to aware of the activities undertaken by Nestle Waters, the Water Stewardship Project of WLRC, and share the findings from the baseline study and the integrated landscape management and protection plan
