A task team was established by the ANRS president office to develop Lake Tana Sub-Basin Inter-Institutional Strategy and Protocol for Multi-stakeholder dialogues. Team members composed of WLRC, BDU, Abay Basin Authority, Agriculture Bureau, Tourism Bureau, Environment Protection Authority, Urban Bureau, and ARARI held series of meetings and developed two draft documents for stakeholder discussions the event was held on 17-30 May 2017; 17-31 July 2017 and 26 Nov. to 2 Dec. 2017

  1. Inter-institutional Strategy for sustainable development, protection, and utilization of Lake Tana Sub-Basin and its Resources: Situations, issues, and Strategic Actions Towards Integrated Landscape Management
  2. Regional Inter-Institutional Protocol Providing for the Development, Protection, and Utilization of the Lake Tana Sub-Basin and its Resources

Two draft documents prepared for stakeholder discussion to be approval by the Regional Parliament as a law. Due to political change, the stakeholder workshop was not yet organized to discuss and validate the inter-institutional strategy and protocol.  We therefore recommend to convene the workshop in consultation with the regional government.
