Dr Ermias Teferi
Dr Ermias Teferi, is a Director for Water Division in Water and Land Resource Center. He is also an Associate Professor at the Centre for Environment and Development, Addis Ababa University. He received his PhD in Hydrology and Water Resources from Technical University of Delft and UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, the Netherlands, in July 2015. He was one of the recipients of the Netherlands Fellowship Program (NFP) PhD fellowship award (2011) and WOTRO research grant award (2009).
Dr. Ermias has published more than 50 articles in local and international journals primarily in the areas of soil and water management, hydrology & water resources, remote sensing & GIS, climate & disaster risk management, sustainable land management, and land change science. Since 2009, Dr. Ermias Teferi has been a faculty member of the Center for Environment and Development Studies at the Addis Ababa University and has taught several courses and conducted various research projects and supervised more than 50 masters and 10 PhD students. He contributed to the advancement of academic excellence through his leadership role in Addis Ababa University. Among other responsibilities,
Dr. Ermias served as a Department Head for Center for Environment and Development Studies between 2015 and 2017. He has also served as the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in College of Development Studies at Addis Ababa University in 2022.
