[July 11, 2026 Bishoftu]: Stakeholders implementing Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) interventions in the Wedecha Catchment met at the Bishoftu Agricultural Research Institute to review progress, assess implementation challenges, and set priorities for the next phase of activities supported by the BRIGHT project, which is co-implemented by Water and Land Resources Centre (WLRC) and MoWE, together with BAOs and other key stakeholders including communities.
The review meeting brought together representatives and technical experts from the Upper Awash Basin Administration Office (AwBAO), Zonal, woreda and kebele administrations, , and community committee members who have been actively engaged in implementing the interventions since February 2026.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress made over the past several months through the joint efforts of local communities and partner institutions, highlighted key achievements, identified implementation challenges, and reflected on lessons learned. The meeting also examined the measures taken to address the challenges encountered and identified opportunities to further strengthen the ongoing interventions. The Meeting concluded with the development of an action plan for the coming three months, including priority activities to be carried out during the rainy season.
