[ 19 Feb, 2026 Bishoftu] Groundwater team from MoWE and WLRC collaborated and organized a 5 Day write-shop for the preparation of the Groundwater Study and Design Guideline and the Groundwater Drilling and Well Construction Standard. These documents are aimed at enhancing technical standards, improving quality assurance, and strengthening regulatory oversight in groundwater development across Ethiopia. The write-shop was opened by LEOs Mr. Habtemariam and Mr. Debebe from the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE), together with Dr. Mamaru A. Moges, BRIGHT Project Manager, who highlighted the strategic objectives of the assignment and the expected national impact of the deliverables. A multidisciplinary team composed of senior experts and groundwater practitioners has begun the technical drafting, working collaboratively to produce comprehensive guidelines and standard documents.
