The BRIGHT Project has a significant progress in ongoing downstream infrastructure maintenance activities in the Hare catchment. Teams on the ground have been actively rehabilitating key water channels, and improving flow efficiency Construction of the Muja storm crossing and the adjoining Emba flume structure is moving forward steadily. These upgrades are designed to protect irrigation channels from overflow during heavy rains, reduce flood-related damage, and ensure reliable water flow to downstream farmlands.

In parallel, the project has finalized the production of a 1-meter internal diameter, double-reinforced 40 concrete pipe for the Ginafo site—an essential component for strengthening irrigation water conveyance. With the completion of pipe production, excavation and installation works will commence shortly. Once in place, the new pipe system will improve irrigations system and support more consistent irrigation supply for local farmers. The BRIGHT team notes that these developments mark another important step toward building resilient, community-centered irrigation infrastructure across the basin.
