WLRC and MoWE Organize Validation Workshop for Hare Catchment Baseline Assessment Findings and Proposed Interventions

Water and Land Resources Centre (WLRC) and the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) organised and facilitated a four-day workshop on validation of the Hare Catchment baseline situations assessment findings and the proposed interventions, financed by the Basin Management Support for Resilient, Inclusive Growth and Harmonized Transformation for the National IWRM Programme of Ethiopia (BRIGHT) Project. The workshop was held at Haile Resort, Arba Minch, from September 1 to 4, 2025.

Groundwater Data Management National Taskforce Induction Workshop Kicks Off

The BRIGHT Project conducted Induction Workshop to the National Taskforce to Strengthen Groundwater Data Management. The workshop was conducted on Aug. 2nd, 2025, at Yod Abyssinia Hotel, to validate and standardize the nation’s groundwater data for integration into national water management platforms, a crucial step in modernizing Ethiopia’s groundwater data systems.

MoWE and WLRC Launched BRIGHT Project across Ethiopia’s Five Basins

The Basin Management Support for Resilient, Inclusive Growth, and Harmonized Transformation (BRIGHT) Project, part of Ethiopia’s National Integrated Water Resource Management Program (NIWRP), was started in 2024 and it was officially launched in Abbay, Awash, Tekeze (jointly launched in Addis Ababa), Omo-Gibe Basin (launched in Jimma town), and Rift valley Lakes Basin (event held at Arba Minch town).
