The Water and Land Resource Centre (WLRC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE), officially launched the Basin Management Support for Resilient, Inclusive Growth, and Harmonized Transformation (BRIGHT) Project for Abbay, Awash, and Tekeze Basins. The launch took place at Haile Grand Hotel in Addis Ababa.
Water and Land Resource Centre (WLRC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE), officially launched the Basin Management Support for Resilient, Inclusive Growth, and Harmonized Transformation for the National Integrated Water Resource Management Program of Ethiopia (BRIGHT) Project for the Omo-Gibe Basin on the 21st of March 2025 at Haile Resort Jimma.
In the month of December 2024, 10 thematic groups of the BRIGHT project conducted workshops aimed at refining Terms of joint Engagement (ToJE), and finetuning prioritized operational plans and fostering joint actions within its 10 thematic areas. The workshops also focused on strengthening team capacity to move towards effective implementation.
The Water and Land Resource Center (WLRC) held a high-level induction and evaluation meeting with the European Union (EU) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) Addis Ababa on November 27, 2024. The meeting, held at the WLRC Meeting Hall, aimed to assess progress made and challenges faced in the Inception Phase of the BRIGHT project activities, and the ways forward.
The Water and Land Resource Center (WLRC), together with the Ministry of Water and Energy, Basin Administration Offices of the Abbay, Awash, Omo-Gibe, Rift Valley Lakes and Tekeze basins and other stakeholders in IWRM held Basin Management Support for Resilient Inclusive Growth and Harmonized Transformation for National IWRM Program (BRIGHT) Project activity Co-planning and Team-building workshop, November 25-27, 2024, at Haile Grand Hotel, Addis Ababa.
The FDRE Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE), Water and Land Resource Centre – Addis Ababa University, and Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Ethiopia organised and conducted a high-level event for joint launching of Basin Development Support for Resilient, Inclusive Growth and Harmonized Transformation in the Water Sector of Ethiopia (BRIGHT)- Project and BaSRINET Project, both of which focus on strengthening and transforming Integrated Water Resource Management in Ethiopia on the 1st of March 2024 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Addis Ababa.
