About

Dr. Adey is currently working as the Director of the Climate Risk Management Division and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Specialist at the Water and Land Resources Centre (WLRC). She holds a PhD degree in Water Science and Engineering, specializing in Catchment Hydrology and Water Governance, and an MSc in Soil and Water Engineering. Dr. Adey is a water science professional with research interests spanning catchment hydrology, water resources management, river basin management, and water governance. She is particularly passionate about understanding and strengthening the interconnections between water, society, and ecosystems to promote sustainable and resilient water management. With about 14 years of experience in research, teaching, and development practice, she has contributed to and led different research and development projects. Moreover, she has served the Water Professionals Forum of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) for more than five years as the lead of its Professionals Forum and contributing to global knowledge exchange and professional collaboration in irrigation and water management. Her work has focused on advancing sustainable water management, strengthening governance systems, and supporting evidence-based decision-making in the water sector. Through her research, professional engagement, and leadership she continues to support innovative and integrated approaches to addressing contemporary water challenges.

Areas of Expertise: Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), Water Governance, Catchment Hydrology, Climate Risk Management and Adaptation, and River Basin Management.
