[18 Feb, 2026 Wedecha] The Wedecha Catchment Quick Win Intervention was officially launched on 18 February 2026 through a consultative meeting held at the Adea Woreda Administration. The launch was followed by joint field visits to key intervention sites, including the Pick-Up Weir at ?…, Godino Diversion Weir, and Wedecha Dam. Senior officials from the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) and representatives from Wetlands International also participated, further strengthening technical oversight and institutional collaboration. The team also met with farmers and local leaders and discussed with them on gully rehabilitation measures at Gowa Werko, reinforcing community participation and shared ownership of the initiative. The meeting brought together local sector offices, zonal partners, and the BRIGHT Project–WLRC team to align on priorities and next steps.
