Project Duration: A seven-year programme 2015 – 2022

Purpose:

This collaborative project has been designed with the following research thematic areas in the Ethiopia research observatories

Sustaining growth through water security.
How can the trade-offs between water security for economic development and for human development be managed as part of Ethiopia’s development?
Water security in fragile environments.
Can sustainable land management interventions interrupt the relationship between water insecurity and poverty to support human development and sustainable growth?
Small towns’ pathways to water security.
What are the implications to water security at different scales of the increasing service norms in GTP-II for groundwater and surface water resources on a watershed basis? And what is the contribution of urban WASH programmes to reducing inequalities within households and communities?
