WLRC assesses ground water monitoring in Kunzila that aims to evaluate the status of ground water. The assessment is being implemented by ACACIA Water who takes the responsibility to execute ground water monitoring network to measure water quantity and water quality at Kunzila watershed.

Accordingly, Acacia Water selected 8 sites for establishing ground water monitoring network that have been identified for installation of piezometer wells and telemetric water level measurement equipment. According to the assessment, the major challenges and problems are shortfalls of supply of equipment, unavailability of maintenance to nearby areas, and unavailability of compressor. Activities done before Mid-April 2022 are drilling 10m, 80m, and 10m at three different sites and conducting trials. After successful trial, the contractor gave sub-contract to Afro-Ethiopia Integrated Development to undertake the drilling activity. The Afro-Ethiopia Integrated Development has started the drilling activity since April 27, 2022.
