WLRC-GCRF project facilitates stakeholders’ training workshop on 30 May 2022 at Solo Te Hotel, Addis Ababa. The aim of the training is to build the capacity of participants and their respective institutions in the domain of Hydrological data management and hydrological modelling for water Security. In the workshop, presentations by the WLRC experts and the invited guests are taking place.
WLRC participates at 2022 Addis Ababa University Research and Fair Week. The guest of honor His Excellency Belete Molla (PhD), the Minister of Innovation and Technology and the State Minister of I & T His Excellency Professor Afework Kassu attended the presentation. The president of AAU and vice presidents visited WLRC’s posters. The Centre presented 13 research posters. The WLRC staff were available and give explanation
WLRC-Kunzila ILMWA project starts fish farming at the Southern part of Lake Tana. The fish farming will be piloted in 20 private fish cages; each of them has an area of 25 m2. The depth of the cage net is 4 meters that has the capacity to farm 8000-10,000 fishes in a season.
WLRC organizes gender and climate nexus learning and exchange forum in association with EKN to mark International Women’s Day 2022 Date on March 31, 2022 at Sapphire Addis Hotel.
WLRC-Kunzila ILMWA Project organizes livestock fattening fair on 12 April 2022 at Kunzila Town. Farmers who got credit from SACCOs and support from the project to engage in fattening of oxen, goat and sheep as well as poultry farming participate at the livestock fattening fair. The objective of the livestock fattening fair is to introduce the project activities in the project area and create market chain for farmers.
