Induction Training on Basin Plan Preparation and Revision Guidelines for WLRC /BRIGHT Staff was held from 21-22, 2025, Haile Grand Hotel, Addis Ababa. This training was aimed at establishing the necessary framework and providing tools for managing water resources at the basin level, aligning with IWRM principles. It was indicated that a Basin Plan can serve as both an enabling framework and a management instrument within the framework of IWRM.
The Induction Training was facilitated by Dr. Taye Alemayehu and Dr. Bizuneh Asfaw. The MoWE Basin Planning Desk Head and a former Director of the Awash basin Office were also among the participants, sharing their experiences with the previous basin plans and the planning processes. The training created a shared understanding among the WLRC senior staff who will engage in the preparation and revision of basin plans.
The training also described the future action planning and prioritisation for the hotspot sub-projects/catchment development plans, including Hare.
