[ WLRC 11 Mar, 2026] Water and land resource centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Water and energy organized a one day High level consultative workshop on March 11th, 2026, at Capital Hotel. The meeting was officially opened by H.E. Dr.-Ing. Habtamu Itafa, Minister of the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE), who emphasized the importance of reliable groundwater data for sustainable water resource planning and management. The event serves as an important platform to review progress made by the National Groundwater Data Task Force, which has been working to assess, validate, and organize groundwater datasets across the country. The consultation brought together Federal and regional water Bureaus, Basin Administration office, bureau heads, government officials, and Universities from across Ethiopia, along with experts and partners, to discuss progress made by the National Groundwater Data Task Force and the way forward for establishing a unified national groundwater database.
