[WLRC, May 2026] – The Elshaday Fuel-Saving Stove Producer Women’s Association, located in Muja Kebele of Arba Minch Zuria Woreda, has officially commenced the production of fuel-saving stoves with support from the BRIGHT Project.
To strengthen the association’s capacity and ensure successful operation, the BRIGHT Project provided leadership and technical training to association members, along with essential production materials and equipment, including molds, sand, cement, and basic production tools.
The fuel-saving stoves are expected to improve household energy efficiency, reduce fuelwood consumption, and contribute to environmental conservation. The initiative also creates income-generating opportunities for women, supporting their economic empowerment and improving household livelihoods.
Leaders of the association expressed their appreciation for the support provided by the BRIGHT Project and requested additional skills training and more production molds to increase their production capacity. They emphasized that expanding production would enable them to distribute affordable fuel-saving stoves to more households across the community.
The initiative reflects the BRIGHT Project’s commitment to promoting sustainable energy technologies, enhancing women’s participation in local economic development, and improving livelihoods within the Hare Catchment intervention areas.
